Hey Google

A window of opportunity to control your Blue ADT security system hands-free has opened. Your Blue system now works with Hey Google so you can control your security system, and compatible smart home devices with your voice. Also, don’t let home safety go out the window this spring. Get tips for using your Blue security to help protect windows, doors, cabinets and pets at your place.

Google Assistant

Your Blue by ADT system now works with Hey Google

Control your Blue by ADT system hands-free using a Google Assistant-enabled device like the Nest Mini, Nest Hub (2nd gen) and Nest Hub Max. Use your voice to control your Blue by ADT system, plus dozens of compatible smart home devices – just ask Google. Start by downloading the Google Home app. That means even more convenience and peace of mind.

Try one of the voice commands below to begin:

Security: "Hey Google, arm my system"
Lights: "Hey Google, turn on the kitchen lights"
Locks: "Hey Google, lock the front door"
Thermostat: "Hey Google, set the thermostat to 70 degrees"

Window Sensor

Window of safe opportunity

As you’re cracking open windows and letting in the spring breeze, remember to keep home security in mind. (And don’t forget to close your windows during April showers.) Here are a few safety tips for National Window Safety Week that is held from April 4th to 10th.

Open vs. closed. To help protect your home, avoid leaving ground floor, easy-to-access windows open. Also, shut and lock downstairs or other accessible windows when you’re outside, away from home or going to sleep.

Clear it all up. To help protect your family, pets and place, keep your windows clear of security bars or devices that do not allow for easy opening. That way, you can escape from your home quickly if there is an emergency.

Help prevent the chance of falls. It’s important to remember that window screens are intended to keep insects outside and aren’t meant to prevent falls. Remember to keep furniture away from windows and to close windows that may be reachable by kids or pets.

Monitor window sensors. Use your Blue security system to monitor all potential entry points at your home, including doors and windows. You can even use the sensors on cabinets. With the Blue mobile app’s 24/7 alerts, you’ll always know what’s going on at your place no matter where you are.

Leave a hint in the window. By securing your home with Blue by ADT, you’re protecting what matters most from burglary, fire, water and carbon monoxide. Remember to post your ADT yard sign and window stickers at your place to let everyone know your house is protected.

National Pet Day

Every dog has its day

Pets are great company, share tons of love and can make you smile. Keep your furry, scaly or feathery buddies safe at home with your Blue security system. As a nod (or head tilt) to National Pet Day on April 11th, here are a few ideas to help keep your furbaby secure and comfortable at your place with a smart home security system:

  • Find out what your furry friend is up to. See live video inside of your home with an indoor camera.
  • See and talk to your buddy with optional indoor or outdoor cameras.
  • Add a doorbell camera to see your pet come and go with a sitter.
  • Help protect your furbaby 24/7 from fire and CO.
  • Adjust your home’s temperature to keep pets warm or cool with a compatible smart thermostat.
  • Control your home’s smart lighting with the Blue mobile app so your furbaby can take a nap and be ready to play when you get home.

Pre-setup is required. Google, Nest Mini, Nest Hub (2nd gen) and Nest Hub Max are trademarks of Google LLC. Nest Mini, Nest Hub (2nd gen) and Nest Hub Max require a Wi-Fi network, a nearby electrical outlet, a compatible mobile device, and a Google Account.
