The Blue by ADT Smart Security Hub and indoor camera run on AC power. The wireless outdoor camera is battery-operated. The Blue Extender + Chime is recommended to extend the life of the outdoor camera's rechargeable battery and enhance its Wi-Fi connection.
All of our devices require a connection to a strong Wi-Fi network in order to communicate with each other and send alerts to you and the monitoring center.

Yes. Adding one or more Blue by ADT Wireless Outdoor Cameras to your security system will allow you to stream live HD video of the exterior of your business. The wireless outdoor camera has motion detection and facial recognition features and is compatible with your existing smart home and office devices.
You do not need a permit to self-monitor your Blue security system. However, most municipalities require an alarm permit for professionally monitored systems. Permit laws vary by municipality, so we recommend getting in touch with your municipality if you have questions regarding permit requirements for the location of your business.
